AC Milan 4 Slavia Prague 2: Christian Pulisic Stars in Rossoneri Victory

Rossoneri Secure Advantage in Europa League Round of 16 First Leg

AC Milan put on a dominant performance to defeat Slavia Prague 4-2 in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League Round of 16 tie on Thursday. Christian Pulisic was the star of the show for the Rossoneri, scoring a magnificent right-footed shot from close range in the first half.

Pulisic Leads Milan to Victory

Pulisic opened the scoring for Milan in the 22nd minute after a quick counter-attack. Rafael Leão provided the assist, setting up the American for a simple finish into the bottom right corner.

Slavia Prague responded well to going behind, but Milan were relentless in their attacking play. Olivier Giroud doubled their lead in the 39th minute with a tap-in from close range, assisted by Theo Hernandez.

Just before halftime, Slavia Prague pulled a goal back through Lukas Masopust, but Milan restored their two-goal advantage in the 57th minute. Pulisic was again involved, providing the assist for Ante Rebić to score from inside the box.

Slavia Prague Show Resilience

Slavia Prague refused to give up and pulled another goal back in the 70th minute through Petr Ševčík. However, Milan held on to secure a crucial victory in the first leg of the tie.

Milan Look Ahead to Second Leg

AC Milan will now take a 4-2 lead into the second leg, which will be played at the San Siro on March 21, 2024. They will look to their talisman Christian Pulisic to continue his impressive form and help them secure a place in the quarter-finals.
