Chelsea reach Women's FA Cup final after Kerr stuns Aston Villa

Kerr's header sends Blues to Wembley

Chelsea Women booked their place in the final of the Women's FA Cup with a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

Sam Kerr's header in the second half proved to be the difference between the two sides, as Chelsea reached their third consecutive FA Cup final.

Villa gave a good account of themselves against the reigning champions, but they were unable to find a way past a resolute Chelsea defence.

The Blues will now face Manchester City in the final at Wembley on May 14th.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes said: "We're delighted to be back in the final. Aston Villa made it very difficult for us, but we showed our quality in the end."

Aston Villa manager Carla Ward said: "I'm proud of my players. They gave everything today, but it wasn't to be."
