Tyler Van Dyke Leads Canes Comeback Win Over Wisconsin
Touchdown Pass to CJ Williams Seals the Deal
Miami Hurricanes quarterback Tyler Van Dyke threw a touchdown pass to CJ Williams with 1:31 remaining in the fourth quarter to give Miami a 35-31 victory over the Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday night at Hard Rock Stadium.
The touchdown pass was Van Dyke's third of the game and Williams' second touchdown reception.
Van Dyke's Performance
Van Dyke finished the game 20-of-33 passing for 325 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 39 yards on eight carries.
Van Dyke's performance was a vast improvement over his performance in Miami's season-opening loss to Alabama. In that game, Van Dyke threw for just 138 yards and one touchdown with two interceptions.
Williams' Impact
Williams finished the game with six catches for 107 yards and two touchdowns.
Williams' performance was a breakout game for the sophomore wide receiver. He had just one catch for 15 yards in Miami's season-opening loss to Alabama.
Badgers' Comeback Attempt Falls Short
The Badgers had a chance to tie the game with a field goal in the final seconds, but kicker Vito Calvaruso's 52-yard attempt was wide left.
The loss drops Wisconsin to 1-1 on the season. The Badgers will host New Mexico State next week.
Hurricanes' Outlook
The win improves Miami's record to 1-1 on the season. The Hurricanes will host Southern Miss next week.
Miami is now 3-0 all-time against Wisconsin.
