What is Mpox?
Mpox, previously known as monkeypox, is a rare viral infection caused by a virus that belongs to the same family as smallpox.

Symptoms of Mpox

Who is at Risk of Mpox?

- Men who have sex with men (MSM)
- Immunocompromised individuals
Transmission of Mpox
Mpox can spread through close contact with an infected person or through contact with contaminated materials, such as clothing or bedding.
The virus can also be transmitted through respiratory droplets from an infected person's cough or sneeze.
Prevention of Mpox
There are several steps individuals can take to reduce their risk of mpox, including:
- Avoiding contact with individuals who have mpox
- Practicing good hand hygiene by washing hands frequently with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand sanitizer
- Avoiding contact with contaminated materials
- Getting vaccinated against mpox

There is no specific treatment for mpox, but supportive care can help relieve symptoms.
